An investment came to my attention recently, the advert for which offered the seemingly perfect combination of high income with capital growth. The offer read: “This investment aims to achieve a reasonable level of income, together with capital growth … [it] intends to invest primarily in companies listed in the UK, with the balance invested internationally.
