The Investment Management Association is conducting a review of the Absolute Return sector, which may see its name changed and sub-categories introduced.
The IMA's sector review focuses on the peer groups in which the manager has wider investment discretion, such as Absolute Return. Nicola Kembey, head of sectors at the IMA, says: "The Absolute Return sector forms part of the IMA's wider sector review. The review is considering in particular the implications of the growing use of Ucits III investment powers, and of outcome-based investment strategies and how the IMA sector classification scheme deals with these."
