Ignis mulls Strategic Bond fund

Ignis is planning to launch a strategic bond fund for head of credit portfolio management Chris Bowie.

The product, which is at the design stage, is likely to be a concentrated long-only portfolio of around 30 holdings. It will focus primarily on the UK, with Europe and EM exposure also under consideration. Subject to test marketing and regulatory approval, the fund may come to market in the Q2-3 this year. The fund would leverage off the research of the £280m Corporate Bond fund, with conviction positions in the new fund likely to be the largest holdings in the existing product.
