Martin Currie is planning to broaden the investment remit of Tom Walker's Portfolio investment trust by converting it into a pure global equities trust.
The £139m trust is currently benchmarked against the FTSE All Share index and can invest up to 50% of its portfolio in international equities. Under its current remit the trust must also have more than 50% in UK equities and can have up to 20% in private equity. The change will see the fund benchmarked against the FTSE World index, with the flexibility to invest up to 100% in international equities.
