Asia manager Evans quits Martin Currie

Richard Evans, co-manager of the £204m Martin Currie Asia Pacific fund, will leave the firm and the fund management industry at the end of September.

Evans will be replaced by fund manager Paul Danes, a portfolio manager on the Japan team. Danes will co-manage the Asia Pacific fund alongside head of Asian equities Jason McCay and Andrew Graham. Martin Currie will be expanding its five-strong Japan team with a new appointment pending this month. Martin Currie runs £650m of Japan mandates, while the Asia team runs a further £1.3bn.
