Martin Currie to launch GEM fund for Catechis

Martin Currie is to launch a global emerging markets fund as it moves the rest of its SICAV range to UCITS IV.

The group said the Martin Currie GF - Global Emerging Markets fund will be launched later this year, subject to regulator approval, under the management of head of GEMs, Kim Catechis, who joined last October from SWIP, alongside five other GEM specialists. The Luxembourg-domiciled fund will be an actively-managed portfolio consisting of 40 to 60 of the team's best ideas. It will be unconstrained at a country and sector level and will aim to outperform the MSCI Emerging Markets index.
