Alliance Trust to launch global thematic opps fund for Di Bon

Alliance Trust Asset Management is set to launch a global thematic opportunities fund for Ilario Di Bon next month, who joined the group as head of global equities from Fidelity in June.

The group has been granted FSA approval to launch the Alliance Trust Global Thematic Opportunities fund, with Ilario Di Bon and Juergen Lanzer appointed co-managers. At Fidelity, Di Bon headed up the group's Global Opportunities fund, which grew to $1bn AUM from $250m in less than two years. Lanzer joined the group in October from Schroders, where he was a global sector specialist. Both Di Bon and Lanzer have previously worked together at UBS. Alliance Trust also announced today its asset management business posted a net inflow of £7.3m over the last three months.
