Aberdeen founder Gilbert to take seat on BSkyB board

British Sky Broadcasting Group has announced Martin Gilbert, founder of Aberdeen Asset Management, is set to join its board of independent non-executive directors.

Gilbert will take his seat on the board following the company's AGM, which is taking place on 29 November. Gilbert has been a director of Aberdeen Asset Management since 1983 and is also a director of a number of the group's investment trusts. Gilbert will be joined on the board by Matthieu Pigasse, who is chief executive officer of Lazard France and vice-chairman of Lazard Europe. Gilbert and Pigasse will replace David Evans and Allan Leighton, who have previously announced their respective retirements.
