Scottish groups step up contingency plans ahead of independence vote

Scotland's £800bn fund management industry has begun to step up contingency plans in the event the country's populace votes for independence this September.

With polls indicating a close race and debates continuing over regulation and currency, the industry has increased its preparations. Firms based in Scotland include household names Aberdeen Asset Management, Baillie Gifford and Standard Life Investments, as well as a variety of mid-sized and boutique firms.
