FCA appoints head of investment banking

The Financial Conduct Authority has appointed a former managing director from Bank of America Merrill Lynch to head its investment banking supervision team.

Julia Hoggett - who was in charge of debt capital markets products in her previous role - will join in May as head of investment banking in the regulator's supervision division. Hoggett has a wealth of experience, having also been chief executive of DEPFA ACS Bank Ireland, as well as covered capital markets at J.P. Morgan. Clive Adamson, director of supervision at the FCA, said: "I am delighted that Julia is joining us.
