Princess Private Equity sets out share buyback policy as it eyes rebrand

Princess Private Equity Holding (PEY) trust has updated its share buyback policy due to its “high” discount.

The trust's discount at the end of 2023 stood at 26.7%, but it has since narrowed to 24.3%, according to data from the Association of Investment Companies. According to its annual results for the year to 31 December 2023, the £1bn trust said the listed private equity sector has "struggled historically with capital allocation". It said that as the sector moves into an "improving private equity environment" with increasing realisations, greater liquidity and rising net asset values, it is "essential" to have the right criteria for capital allocation.
