More needs to be done to improve gender diversity in the asset management industry long before the job application process, according to Troy Asset Management's Charlotte Yonge, who founded the charity GAIN (Girls Are Investors) at the beginning of the year.
Yonge, whose first post-university career was within asset management, said she found her ideal job as a fund manager at Troy Asset Management through internships at a young age. However, she believes many young women refrain from considering fund management as a career option because of a lack of knowledge or insight, a lack of female role models, or because of little self-confidence.
