Nuclear has been a contentious topic in markets, a "classic" ESG exclusion story which has become stronger as investors continue to align with the SFDR and the EU taxonomy.
In the face of an energy supply crisis, however, it has created friction, according to a recent study by Natixis Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB). In an interview with Investment Week on the findings of the study, Thomas Girard, global head of green and sustainable syndicate at Natixis CIB, said there is a debate between ESG investors prioritising climate change, and those refusing to support "dark green" investments like nuclear.
