Tom Slater, manager of the £9.6bn Scottish Mortgage investment trust, spoke to Investment Week about his tenure so far and the future of the portfolio within a more volatile macroeconomic environment.

Over ten years, SMT has made the highest returns in the IT Global sector, generating 320.1% versus the sector's 117.8% average return. The trust was founded in 1909 but performance data only goes back to 1995, since which SMT has generated almost 2300% for clients - more than two and half times the average global trust (815%).
