Market data is pointing towards a general increase in expectations of a recession in the next 12 to 18 months.
This helps to explain some of the key findings in the Investment Association's recent retail fund flow data. OBR: No-deal Brexit will spark recession Firstly, UK equity funds saw net outflows of £1.2bn in July. Secondly, UK Smaller Companies, UK All Companies and UK Equity Income all recorded net outflows during the month, reflecting investors' lacklustre expectations for UK growth.
