The US 'political football' investors need to take a look at

An adage of equity investing during a US presidential election cycle is 'avoid healthcare'.

The US spends about $10,500 per person on healthcare, over 40% more than Switzerland, the next highest, and well over double the UK level, but still huge numbers of Americans have limited healthcare and routinely defer critical treatments on account of cost. This represents a sizeable political football which presidential candidates love to kick around, the focus usually on reducing costs and extending coverage at the expense of the current healthcare providers. In November 2016, presidential candidate Donald Trump tweeted "We will have much less expensive and much better healthcare"....
