Do US banks offer investors value once again?

Regardless of your home country, there are only a handful of words across the globe that can elicit a visceral response when spoken among polite company.

After 2008, a once generally well-regarded profession was turned as toxic as the mortgages many of those 'B words' were peddling ('B word', in this case, being banker). The world in 2020 is, dare we say, 'different'. Not different in the sense of flying cars and teleportation devices, but in the revival of the banker, and those towering banking institutions - just in a more humble and gentle variety.  The much maligned banking system in the US is functioning quite well, offering many investors the opportunity to buy high-quality banking franchises at reasonable prices.
