Ahead of International Women’s Day, Hanneke Smits, CEO of BNY Mellon Investment Management, speaks to Investment Week about her first year as global chair of the 30% Club and priorities for the future.

Taking the helm of the 30% Club gave new chair Hanneke Smits a valuable opportunity to review the organisation and where she wanted to focus her leadership efforts going forward. In particular, there were questions around the relevance of the campaign as the group's initial target of 30% of women on boards had already been reached in certain global chapters, including now rising to 42% in the UK's FTSE 350.
