Unconventional approach of Davis Advisors drives improvement on HSBC American Growth fund in group's two-year spell
Large-cap companies in the US are among the most analysed in the world, and the managers of HSBC's American Growth fund take an unconventional approach to generate additional value. The UK-domiciled fund is a close mirror of the Davis New York Venture vehicle, with both headed up by Chris Davis and Ken Feinberg at Davis Advisors. The managers, who took on the HSBC fund in April 2005, have run the US-domiciled Venture product since the 1960s.
