What is an absolute return fund? The objective of an absolute return fund is to deliver positive returns in any market condition. This contrasts with a relative return strategy of traditional equity funds which aim to outperform a benchmark index. Absolute return funds aim to achieve their goals by investing in a variety of strategies and asset classes. In addition, they can also have exposure to derivatives such as contracts for differences (CFDs).
