Hexam's Bryan Collings believes focus portfolios are key in emerging markets while models using large analyst teams are breaking down. Along with five colleagues, Collings left Barings in 2006 to establish the Hexam boutique in partnership with Resolution. He is lead manager on the Global Emerging Markets fund, with Grant Shotter as co-manager. The fund returned 36.52% over the year to 31 December according to Lipper, and Collings believes the stocks in the portfolio could go up at least 20% by the end of the year.
