Lotfi Ben Lazrak, global bonds and currency management product specialist at Amundi, has argued investors should be more willing to take currency risk within portfolios.
Amundi Funds Bond Global Aggregate was launched in October 2007, and Ben Lazrak (pictured) described it is as a highly diversified macro fund with a very active management style. A significant portion of the portfolio is exposed to currencies, and Ben Lazrak said this has supported returns. “Some 40% of our risk is coming from FX, we think there is a lot of value there, and FX has been a good performance contributor to the portfolio,” he said. “A lot of people are sceptical about using FX, but we believe it adds value, and so far we have been able to prove that.” The fund has r...
