EEA's Urch: UK self-help stories lighting up the FTSE

Mega-caps may have struggled this year, but the UK is awash with successful self-help situations, says EEA's David Urch.

This year, we have been concerned about headwinds faced by some large and mega caps, and have cut exposure to, avoided, or shorted Diageo, Tesco, BP, Unilever, and Rolls-Royce. Instead, we like businesses that are able to improve their position through management action. Great self help stories have included Dixons Carphone, Provident Financial, and G4S.
