UK investors may be unsure about the impending general election, but events elsewhere could provide a boost to the economy in the coming months, explains John Redwood, chairman of the investment committee at Charles Stanley Pan Asset.
The UK has shown itself capable of generating a lot of extra jobs at a time of employment drought in many parts of Europe. The country has overcome its inflationary tendencies, at least for the time being, with a bit of help from global commodity prices. The country can enjoy strong jobs growth, decent output growth, low price rises, and even some increases in wages and real incomes.
