After months of worry about China's slowing growth, the country experienced its very own ‘Black Monday' in August, prompting global stockmarket chaos. The Shanghai Composite index fell by almost 9% to close at 3,211 on 24 August, its biggest one-day loss since 2007, while the FTSE 100 fell by 4.7%. The IA Asia Pacific ex Japan sector has now posted an average loss of 13.9% year to date.
