Banyard reveals key positions in Free Spirit fund amid 'effervescent' markets

Sanford DeLand Asset Management's Rosemary Banyard has unveiled the top ten holdings in her recently-launched Free Spirit fund, as she describes challenging "effervescent" equity markets in the UK.

The ex-Schroders manager launched the fund in January 2017, her first multi-cap fund based on a pension mandate she ran for her former employer, which aims to return a minimum of CPI +2% after costs per annum.  It has raised £3.25m since inception, which she said is on track for a £10m target after the first year. Around 25%-30% of the portfolio is still in cash, but Banyard said this should drift below 20% by mid-July and she hopes for some market volatility to put the cash to work.
