US and Japanese ETFs were the best performers on platform Selftrade's ETF Select 100 list of best-in-class products last month, while a Spanish vehicle was the worst performer as political tensions soared in the country.
Commenting on the main trends in October, Simon Glover, chairman of ITI Group which updates the ETF Select list, noted October saw more encouraging economic news than the previous month. World GDP growth estimates were maintained and third quarter corporate earnings reports were generally at the top end of expectations, particularly in the technology sector, he said.
