Liontrust Asset Management's John Husselbee has moved away from growth towards value across the £692m range of multi-asset portfolios he co-manages with Paul Kim.
There have been a number of false dawns for value investing over the past year, but Husselbee, head of multi-manager multi-asset at Liontrust, points to the 10-year spread between the MSCI World Growth index and the MSCI World Value index, which he says is currently at its widest point with growth having outperformed value over the past decade. On an annualised basis, the growth index has returned 8.07% over ten years compared to the 5.93% average of the value index, according to MSCI.
