Gender pay gap reports, the 30% Club, City Hive and the launch of Investment Week's Women in Investment Awards have placed gender diversity firmly under the spotlight in the asset management industry in recent years, and groups are now well versed on the benefits of employing more diverse teams.
They have embraced a whole host of initiatives as the industry vows to be more inclusive of females, be that through shared parental leave or flexible working, for example. But there are also a significant number of people who still feel overlooked (and perhaps even unwelcome) - LGBT+ individuals or those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or maybe even something else - as The Ocean Partnership's Matt Cameron pointed out, there are 56 ways to identify ourselves and "every one of them is a person".
