According to the ONS' Q2 report, the warm weather, in addition to a royal wedding and a respectable World Cup campaign for the English national football team, saw the likes of pubs and retail firms benefit. However, other companies - notably those in the energy sector - suffered the opposite fate, as their share prices dived.
