A couple of months ago, I listed ten fairly straightforward ways I thought we could make money for clients over the quiet summer months. However, a couple of people said it was all a bit tame - that most of the trades were designed to add 10 or 20 basis points and, of course, this is the point we run a fairly conservative which through the cycle, is aiming to return around 6% "beta" and hopefully a little alpha on top.
