Gartmore knows a thing or two about emerging markets, having launched the first UK authorised emerging markets unit trust in 1987. That fund - the Gartmore Emerging Markets Opportunities fund - is now managed by head of global emerging markets Chris Palmer. Chris also manages the Gartmore Sicav Emerging Markets fund, a Luxembourg fund set up in 2000. Chris's team works together to generate ideas for the fund, which are then rigorously tested through both traditional fundamental research and quantitative screening.
