The award-winning manager emphasises team approach on Aberdeen Asia Pacific

Aberdeen’s Hugh Young was one of the first managers to see the potential of investing in Asia, launching his first funds in the region in the 1980s. The flagship Asia Pacific fund now has more than £2bn assets under management, and is part of a product range that includes pan-Asian and single country portfolios with a combined $32.2bn (£20.8bn) of assets. Singapore-based Young may be manager partner for Aberdeen Asset Management Asia and group head of equities, but he is keen to stress the group’s team-based approach.
