PSigma Balanced Managed Fund of Funds manager Thomas Becket has had to negotiate a highly volatile two years since launching his product to the retail market.
Becket, who has run the strategy for six years in the firm’s private client business, decided in 2008 the model may suit smaller investors such as discretionary IFAs. However, it has not been actively marketed to the retail clients until recently. Becket describes the fund as being at the cautious end of the Balanced Managed sector, designed for investors who wish to capture 60% of market upside, but only 40% of downside.
