The past year was a strange period for investors in North America. Throughout 2010, the US stock market was jittery, as the threat of the dreaded ‘double dip’ loomed large. But despite all the fear, the market actually performed well, rising almost 20% in sterling terms. So, a nervous period has, ultimately, rewarded those investors who held their nerve.
