Mumford's Cavendish Opps returns to top-quartile form

Fund bounces back through focus on companies that have benefitted from the recession

A focus on the winners from the credit crisis has led to a reversal of fortune for Cavendish Opportunities, with the fund moving into the top quartile of the UK All Companies sector after a torrid couple of years. Under manager Paul Mumford, the fund is now ninth in the 242 fund-strong peer group, delivering 41.9% over the three years to 21 April, against an average 12.9%, according to Morningstar.    However, the Opportunities fund has failed to attract assets on the scale of giants in the sector such as M&G Recovery or Fidelity UK Special Situations, and has a modest £47m under mana...
