Many readers will be aware of the problem UK retail fund buyers face in investing in the US. Despite it currently being the largest and deepest global stock market, the UK investor is not blessed with a large quantity of well managed funds to choose from. For a number of years, this has not been a problem. From 2003-2007, investors were more than happy to buy Asian and emerging market funds, where the macro-economic case for investing seemed unbeatable.
