Looking ahead, they will have to rely more on domestic consumption growth and investment. In general, we expect consumption to be boosted by the cyclical downturn in headline inflation, which continues to support monetary policy easing. Nonetheless, a combination of elevated oil prices and tightening labour market does pose more secular risks to this more benign inflation and growth view.
