The Absolute Return sector has been dogged by criticism in recent months as commentators warn some of the funds are not doing what they say on the tin.
This could not have come at a worse time for investors who are more desperate than ever before to find those elusive positive returns in all market conditions. However, one fund that is looking to be a real contender in achieving the sector’s aim is the Kames Capital UK Equity Absolute Return fund. It is just one of two funds in the group to produce a positive return every quarter over the past nine quarters (since its launch), according to figures from Morningstar.
