Pictet Asset Management offers a number of thematic equity funds that have been popular with UK investors, but one that has not received as much attention is the Pictet Security fund, managed by Yves Kramer.
The fund’s performance versus the FE Equity – Other Specialist sector has been impressive over five, three and one years. Three year returns to 7 February are 50% versus a sector average of 28%, according to FE, and over five years the fund is up 48%, while the sector has lost 7% on average. The £139m portfolio is one of the nine components in Pictet’s Global Megatrend Selection range, which includes four environmental funds investing in Water, Clean Energy, Agriculture and Timber, as well as four other themed funds: Premium Brands, Digital Communications, Biotech, and Generics.
