A demographic tidal wave is breaking over the United States. The nation’s 80 million post-war baby boomers, born between 1946 and 1964, are reaching the age of 65 at a rate of 10,000 every day, according to the Pew Research Center. As they retire, they are being replaced in the workplace by a new generation. Christened the ‘millennials’, these are the generation of around 85 million born between the early 1980s and the early 2000s, who take their name from those among them born at the turn of the millennium.
