What started out as investor frostiness to emerging markets last year, has turned positively icy in 2014. There has been larger EM portfolio outflows in the first five weeks of 2014, than for the whole of 2013. In the emerging European region, the timing seems rather fitting, coinciding as it does with the Sochi Winter Olympics having just finished.
