'We worry about everything': Causer and Read cautious in hunt for yield

Invesco Perpetual's Paul Read and Paul Causer have a long track record navigating tricky bond markets. Here they tell Julian Marr where the biggest risks are today.

Paul Causer and Paul Read are two of the most recognised names in the fixed income sector, overseeing Invesco Perpetual’s huge bond fund range. They are perhaps best known for their £5.6bn Corporate Bond fund, and the £3bn Distribution fund, formerly managed alongside Neil Woodford. Over their years running money successfully, the pair have generally tended to hold a cautious view of the world, and this stance has held them in good stead in terms of their performance (see graph below). “We worry about everything, and are constantly reassessing where the risks are,” Causer said.
