A snapshot of recent environmental policy announcements this year include the European Union’s plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40% before 2030, and the US government’s proposal to cut carbon pollution from the power sector by 30%. In the East, Chinese authorities are set to spend $330bn on tackling water pollution over the next decade.
