In March, the Trump administration announced for national security reasons, tariffs would be levied on imports of steel and aluminium.

Given the largest steel exporters to the US are Canada and the European Union, it would appear the administration is picking a fight with two of its largest political and economic allies.  While President Trump appears intent on promoting the idea that national interests are at the heart of his decision, it increasingly appears as if it is playing more to the Trump agenda than anything else.
