Why bother to invest in UK equities?

A troubled Brexit with Parliamentary stumbles and deadline extensions, while the original departure date has come and gone.

Dogged by infighting and duplicity, a fragile government nervously eyes an opportunistic opposition. Sterling gyrates and business investment has collapsed under the weight of uncertainty, perhaps causing irreparable damage with GDP faltering since the June 2016 referendum.  The construct of the FTSE 100 index favours resources, staples and financials, while it under-represents high-growth areas of technology and consumer discretionary spending.
