Focused mandates help Newton to thrive in Asia

Newton's Jason Pidcock, leader of the Asia Pacific ex Japan team, has been investing in Asian equities for 17 years and has been running the Asian Income fund since its launch in November 2005.

As it approaches its five-year anniversary, the fund has assets under management of £583m and over three years to 1 November has returned 30.3%, compared to an IMA Asia Pacific ex Japan sector average of 8.3%, according to Morningstar. It has a historic yield of 4.7%. The fund manager also runs the £959m Oriental fund, which has delivered 21.3% over three years. What is your investment process?
