Swiss fund group Reyl Asset Management is beginning to make a name for itself in the crowded UK funds market, using a quant-style systematic approach to set itself apart from rivals.
The Geneva-based investment team of active managers uses passive investment strategies to take the emotion out of stock selection. This approach has certainly paid off for its emerging markets product, which has delivered ten times the sector average return over the last three years. The 900-stock Reyl Emerging Markets Equities fund has been running for four years and has $1.6bn under management. It complements the existing Europe and US strategies the group manages.
