Dan Hanbury is River & Mercantile's UK equity specialist, running three retail mandates including the top-performing UK Equity Unconstrained fund.

A former Investec manager who has built his reputation over the past decade, he was handed the group’s £191m UK Equity Income fund last summer following the departure of manager Richard Staveley, who left to join Majedie Asset Management. The Income fund is top quartile since the handover in July, with Hanbury returning 14.3% versus a sector average of 11.8%, and also outperforming the benchmark FTSE All Share return of 8.2%.
