Old Mutual Managed was launched in 1985 and has been under FE Alpha Manager Stewart Cowley’s management since October 2011. The investment process and guidelines have remained identical, with Cowley investing in other Old Mutual funds with the aim of generating capital growth. It is a fettered fund of funds, as the manager only considers in-house products. The allocation between these internal funds results from the manager’s assessment of the relative attractiveness of equities, bonds, and cash.
